Pier 1 Design Board

Today I have put together a living room entirely from Pier1.  I don't normally consider Pier 1 as a "go to" source for my designs but, when I recently came across this mirror, it made me take a second look.  From there, I wanted to create a slightly traditional feeling for the room while keeping it colourful and fresh.

The peacock mirror is a beautiful statement piece and I think it can stand the test of time.  This mirror has been all over blogs but, it caught my eye in the Domino book, Jonathan Adler´s foyer.

These babies can run well over $1,000 so $279 US is a steal.  The mirror was the inspiration for this design board.  What do you think?

Can you believe that this board is entirely inspired by Pier 1?  If you'd like me to design a room, I'd love to hear from you!  I am currently accepting new e-design clients.  Here's how it works:
  • You want to execute, but I do all the sourcing.
  • The concept and direction is what you need!
  • E-design includes a design board, ideas for the room and a list of sources so that you can purchase the items and get going!

IKEA - STOCKHOLM 2013

IKEA just recently launched its 2013 STOCKHOLM collection and I must say I absolutely love this collection!  It focuses on "Smart Craftsmanship" and aims to bring high end design to the masses at a low price.  "STOCKHOLM is all about the design details that matter.  How it feels against your fingertips, and how it looks light and thin but is really sturdy."

STOCKHOLM is all about organic shapes, textures, and colour.  The green and yellow apparent throughhout the collection are effortlessly incorporated with neutrals like gray, black, white, and brown.

Enough talk...here are a few rooms inspried by the collection:

And here are some pieces that I am absolutely swooning over:

These pieces are great to make a statement in a room on their own, however like most IKEA collections they can be incorporated into your everyday look. Need help?, contact me.

Start the car! Run! Do whatever you have to do...get to IKEA!!!!!!
